Over the Christmas and New Year period there will be some changes to the household waste collections period, and the opening hours for the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Local constituents are encouraged to sign up for a free collection reminder www.cardiff.gov.uk/collectionreminders
– Collections are 2 days late from the week commencing 25th December
For example, if your normal collection day is Monday 25th December, it will take place on Wednesday 27th December. If your normal collection day is Tuesday 26th December, it will instead take place on Thursday 28th December.
– Collections are 1 day late from the week commencing 1st January
For example, if your normal collection day is Monday 1st January, it will take place on Tuesday 2nd January. If your normal collection day is Tuesday 2nd January, it will take place on Wednesday 3rd January.
Christmas and New Years Opening Hours for Lamby Way and Bessemer Close are as follows:
24th December
Lamby Way/Bessemer Close 9.30am-16.00pm
Wedal Road, 10am-16.00pm
25th-26th December
Closed
27th-30th December
Lamby Way/Bessemer Close, 9.30am – 18.00pm

Unwanted presents, furniture of large electrical items can be donated to the British Heart Foundation shops in Crwys Road, and Cowbridge Road East. Alternatively, they can be placed in the donation containers at Lamby Way/Bessemer Close HWRC. They are also able to offer a home collection at www.bhf.or.uk/collection or by calling 0808 250 0260
